When my now husband and I decided to get married, we realised very quickly that we just couldn’t create the kind of ceremony we wanted to, within the rules of civil marriage in the UK.
So we opted for a two-part ceremony. A legally recognised civil marriage in Denmark (a country we both love), and a joyous humanist wedding celebration with friends and family back home in the UK.
It was this experience of a humanist wedding ceremony that made me choose to become a celebrant myself.
Why? Because I saw first-hand that a humanist wedding ceremony can be anything you want it to be. Completely personal. In a meaningful place indoors or out. Off-the-peg traditional, off-the-wall incredible – or somewhere in between!

In my professional life I’ve worked in PR and communications for two decades, so I’m confident in bringing together the many different strands of two life stories in to one coherent ceremony.
As a Humanists UK Accredited Celebrant, you have the peace of mind of knowing that I meet a rigorous quality standard which is regularly assessed, and that I’m DBS checked.
The thing that motivates me most is you. Your ceremony. The moment you commit yourselves to be together forever. Something you’ll never forget. It’s a privilege to be part of it.
